Does a person really need an health insurance agent?

It doesn't seem to me like they can do much more than I can in telling me about plans. None of them are any good in the individual market for someone paying for everyone else to have it. I wouldn't mind at all having an agent but it seems they don't do much other than sell me a plan I could buy myself. If they aren't going to help with claims then what good are they? I'm sure they're too busy to deal with claims but so am I having to work two jobs. It is very time consuming having to deal with mistakes and games played by an insurance company. I wish insurance companies would go out of business.

Hi, I was looking to either rent a car for a day or borrow my sisters, now ive found a site on tempcover willing to insure me for something like 30 - 40 odd quid but the trouble is it said something about excess being in & around the 400 - 500 mark.... It also said this is the excess the car's owner has to pay.... I passed my driving test on the 24th of July 2007, however I was stopped on the 25th of July 2009 for having no insurance on a car owned my mum and my younger sister who are both insured on it. I was wondering if I would get my driving license revoked. As I got told that after 2 years I would have the full 12 points on my license, and I got told by the police that the penalty for driving uninsured was 6 points of my license. I then rang DVLA and they said that I would receive the full 12 points on my driving license on exactly two years to the day i.e 24th of July 2009. They were pretty certain about it. And that any point changes would take up to a month to show up. The police men were really rude and when I asked them what was going to happen they were like you have to go court etc. So I'm just wondering what I would actually happen, would I lose my license, have a ban, go to court, etc. Any information would be helpful and most appreciated.

I have held a full uk driving licence for 14 years.......my husband (who has a provisional licence) was put on my new policy last year as a named driver. Today, he passed his test, so to keep it all legal, i contacted the insurance to advise of change of circs. I expected the monthly premiums to rise a little, but what happened next confused and angered me and I really need to know if there is anything I can do......he we go....they said they could no longer insure me and my husband and that they would cancel the policy and were gving me 7 days notice before this happened, (why cant it just be amended, i know loads of people that have done this) they said it was a special deal for me because i had a provisional driver as my named driver..(to me this makes no sense, they work on risk, surely they wouldnt give special deals for unexperienced drivers?) but the icing on the cake they want to charge a 40 cancellation fee, however i am not cancelling they are??? also i can take out a new policy with them which i have to pay an admin fee for making a change to the policy, however it is supposedly a brand new policy??? Has anyone any idea what to do or any ideas? i know I could just change insurers however it would be easier and cheaper to stay with who i'm with and I was never told when I took the policy that if my husband passed his test this one would be void..........and this is more principle as I dont like being hadover, I am going to phone and kick off tomorrow, but want to know if anyone has any solid rules and regs on this. Hello, I come here because everyone I ask just tells me not to worry about it and I JUST WANT TO KNOW! Sorry if this is way too long. I don't want to miss anything. Anyways, I got into a minor accident recently. When I say minor, I mean minor. I bumped them at a red light because I scooted up without looking. Didn't even touch the gas. This is my first accident. I'm twenty years old. When I went to look at our cars my car was a little scuffed, nothing that a little buffing couldn't take off. Their car, was even less. One of the passengers (there were 5 adults total, two children sitting on laps) claimed his back hurt. I was in panic mode as the driver told me that we could handle this without contacting insurance. Later I came to my senses when I realized that this guy with the back injuries was going to keep coming back to me asking for more money, so I told them to call my insurance agency. My question is, does anyone know in the state of Florida what determines how much your car insurance goes up? His injuries (not positive but almost positive) are not bad enough to go into my bodily injury. His PIP should cover it. For example, will your insurance go up based on the damages you have to pay for ? Since I made very VERY minimal damage, will my insurance only go up a little ? I'm 18 and am a beginner in driving and my dad wanted to set up my insurance. The car i would be using would be my dads 1967 Oldsmobile cutlass (classic Muscle car). So i was wondering how much insurance would be at my age with the car i would be using, and with no bad previous record for accidents and/or tickets.

Why are there not provisions in the ACA that put caps on how much health insurance premiums can increase?

I just bought into a health insurance policy as I work 2 part time jobs and get no benefits in those jobs. Now my health insurance provider is saying my health insurance premiums will increase by 50% with higher deductibles and higher out of pocket maximums. This will put a strain on my finance as I can barely afford what I have now and having a $1500 increase really hurt. Why did this ACA not have something to cap these outrageous premium increases plus benefit decreases? It seems to be making it unaffordable rather than affordable.

Help Choosing First Car?

Soo I'm looking at two cars, the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS and the 2002 Ford Mustang. Both are convertible, the Mitsu is a V4 while the Ford is a V6. The Ford has about 90k miles and the Mitsu has about 120k miles. I was wondering which would be the smarter pick and why? Which would be more reliable, efficient, cheaper insurance, cheaper maintainance, ect. Please help me and give any info on both cars.

I applied with a major insurance company in California, am a single vegetarian in my mid/late 30s no children, extremely healthy never been diagnosed with anything, exercise regularly. I guess they dug up that I had taken a fertility drug in the past - I was never even diagnosed as infertile - it's a really cheap common drug that stimulates your ovaries to produce more eggs but I had no partner to get pregnant with so to was just something I got from a fertility doctor if I wanted to get pregnant with donor sperm. That's not even covered by insurance if I ever want to do that again and the drug's like $20 you can practically get it over the counter it's so common I know tons of women who use it. I didn't even apply for maternity care to be included in my insurance, just a basic policy. Is it legal for them to decline me because of this? So if a woman has a baby they are no longer eligible for insurance? Most women who get pregnant take this drug (including both my sisters) yet they still have insurance. Was it legal for the pharmacy to give them this info? I don't know how else they found out.

3-car accident, what will insurance do?

I was in a 3 car accident, I was the middle car. It's stop and go traffic at a red light, the line is backed up a good way, and the person in front of me stops. I stop behind them, but the man behind me doesn't stop. He hits me and pushes my car into her car. His car seems to be flawless, the vehicle he knocked me into also seems unharmed, maybe a scratch on the bumper (it was like a jeep or explorer, so my car went up under hers a little) and the front of my car is a little messed up. The police will file an accident report, but while I wait, what can I expect? I'm expecting his insurance to cover the repairs to my car, because this was in no way my responsibility, he hit me into her, I was more or less a ragdoll vehicle. Yes, I hit her, but it's not because I'm a bad driver, I cannot control being hit into another vehicle during a line at a red light. And though it was never mentioned (I was a little shaken, my mind wasn't clear), I am almost certain he was on his phone because he was looking down and doing something when I looked back after he hit me. It's too late to mention that, but yeah. Got the registration and insurance for it 3 hours before I wrecked. Had the car a week.
